Golden Caves
Met Katwijker Alex Ouwehand op gitaar (o.a. ex-Incease) is Golden Caves één van de meest veelbelovende vertegenwoordigers van de nieuwe generatie progressieve rock. De band gooit hoge ogen in binnen- en buitenland met zijn dynamische mix van progrock, alternatieve invloeden en een aanstekelijk poprandje.
Het vijftal uit Rotterdam bracht in 2017 debuutalbum ‘Collision’ uit. Dit resulteerde in optredens op bekende festivals als Progdreams en ProgPower Europe. Een succesvolle tour in Engeland volgde, met als absoluut hoogtepunt een plek op ultiem progrock festival Summer’s End. het oudste progrock festival van Engeland. In Bibelot maakte Golden Caves indruk als support van Focus. Golden Caves legt op moment de laatste hand aan het langverwachte, tweede album ‘Dysergy’.
Biografie
Golden Caves are considered one of the important representatives of the new generation of Progressive Rock. Significantly, the 5-piece band from Holland were nominated in the category ‘Limelight’ (Greatest Talent) of this year’s prestigious Progressive Music Awards in the UK.
A dynamic mix of ProgRock with alternative influences and an infectious pop edge characterises the music of Golden Caves. Inspiration is drawn from bands such as A Perfect Circle, Porcupine Tree, Steven Wilson, Radiohead and London Grammar. A prominent role is played by the radiant frontwoman and lead singer Romy Ouwerkerk with her heavenly voice.
The critically acclaimed debut album ‘Collision’ (2017), consisting of purely self-written material, led to several significant club and festival performances in Holland, such as the Liberation Festival in Rotterdam and the internationally recognized Progdreams Festival at De Boerderij (Zoetermeer).
In the autumn of 2018 Golden Caves will go on tour in the UK. Particularly significant is the invitation to perform at Summer’s End, the longest existing Progressive Rock festival in England. Furthermore, Golden Caves will soon appear at the famous ProgPower Europe festival, as well share the stage with the legendary Dutch band Focus and the well-known British formation Mostly Autumn.
